Women for Election In Conversation Nadia Saleh, councillor on Canterbury-Bankstown City Council :: Recording
Women for Election Australia CEO, Licia Heath recently interviewed Nadia Saleh, currently serving as a local councillor for the Canterbury-Bankstown Council. Nadia was elected as the Deputy Mayor in September 2017-2018 and is an executive member on the Board of the Australian Services Union. Nadia also received the Local Woman of the Year Award in 2018 for her contributions to the community. She continues to dedicate her skills and passion for serving and empowering her community.
Nadia migrated to Australia from Lebanon 30 years ago and has been a passionate advocate for her community. She has managed essential services at the Riverwood Community Centre for disadvantaged communities in the south-western region of Sydney.
Licia asked Nadia if she had plans to run for state government and we were rather delighted by her response.
We will be conducting more In Conversation sessions in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more discussion and insight.
