Women for Election Australia chief executive Licia Heath said significant barriers remained for female candidates, including getting voters to notice a woman’s name on the ballot.

Women often not noticed

“We’re aiming to get more women running and get more women inspired and engaged but the other side of the coin is that if people want more women in Parliament, you have to vote for them,” she said.
