Join us at NSW Parliament House for our annual INSPIRE conference on Friday, 23rd August, followed by for the first time, our EQUIP workshops on Saturday, 24th August 2019 at UTS Business School.
Attend both events or pick the one that best suits your needs.
DAY 1: INSPIRE is a forum which will expose you to the joys and challenges of a career in public office in Australia. It is a non-partisan program where you can network and develop working relationships with others who have similar aspirations for a political future.
If you want to take the first steps towards running for public office or want to understand more about the process so you can help other women get elected, then this is the event for you.
Listen to the journey into politics of our two keynote speakers The Hon. Bronwyn Taylor, MLC, the newly appointed NSW Minister for Women, Mental Health and Regional Youth and Zali Steggell, recently elected federal representative for Warringah.
Back by popular demand, the World Café will introduce you to elected women from all the major parties and independents who are ready to answer your questions.
Through individual presentations and panel discussions, you will benefit from the diverse perspectives of journalists, campaign managers and media and communication experts as they share their wisdom and offer savvy advice.
Day 2: EQUIP is a workshop which will provide you with the key tools and techniques to get elected. It is tailored not only to meet the very specific challenges that women face, but also the unique skills needed to run for an election or manage a campaign.
We limit the number of participants in EQUIP to provide the best outcomes for attendees.
Please book early to avoid disappointment – both our previous conferences were sold out events.
All tickets include lunch, morning and afternoon tea plus workshop materials.
Students: We have a limited number of student tickets available for full time students only. Proof of enrolment will be required to be produced on the day. These tickets will be available until they run out.
Scholarship Tickets: WFEA is dedicated to identifying and assisting a diverse range of women to access our training modules. This includes disabled women, members of the LGBTI community, indigenous women, regional women/women in remote communities and culturally and linguistically diverse women. Hence we provide scholarship tickets for those who find it difficult to pay the full price. If you would like to apply for a scholarship ticket please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with ‘Scholarship Ticket’ in the email header and let us know about your personal circumstance.
